It’s time to set the horror aside and ease your way into the holiday season with a little something for everyone this week, whether it be frothy adult romance with Scandal or equally frothy teenage drama with Riverdale. (You can then chase that with Baumbach’s latest, The Meyerowitz Stories, also on Netflix.) Downie died on October 17, but this documentary may be the ideal way to pay tribute to not only his memory but the band’s resonance in Canada. André Holland also offers a must-see performance as Algernon Edwards, a black surgeon who is sorely underestimated and banished to the hospital basement. Opt out only if you’re squeamish.
