Talks behind the scenes between the two clubs progressed throughout the tournament as Arsenal saw two bids rejected. Arsenal were always adamant that talks with the player and all the formalities with White including contract talks and a medical would not take place until after Euro 2020. Yet now they have a deal in place with Brighton, so are free to complete the signing whenever they please.
