Bengaluru-based theatre troupe Green Stage, through its production Mathadthane Nodi Nam Ganesha, attempted to create awareness on the use of eco-friendly Ganesha idols through a play in which the chief protagonist was Ganesha himself. The theatre troupe began its ‘street play rally’ by performing its first show here on Saturday. The plays’ scriptwriter and director Vijay A. says although Ganesha festival is a colourful event, it was being celebrated with no concern towards the environment. The character of Ganesha narrates to his mother Gowri how he will be put to inconvenience during the celebration,” Mr. Vijay adds.
