The truth is that most entrepreneurs want to “make it big,” which is a very different kind of success. Most of us, at least in the world of tech, want fame, adulation, power, and everything that goes along with it. Our society equates wealth and fame with intelligence and skill, which leads entrepreneurs to set their values accordingly. I’m of the belief that we need to promote and elect more “Philosopher Kings” to positions of power in both business and government. While he might not be as exciting, Picard and his philosophical approach represent what more entrepreneurs need to emulate.
