A spokesman said: “The advice remains the same – don’t use the machines.”It comes after 42 Hotpoint and Indesit models were recalled in December. In June, Whirlpool had to recall dryers after fires. In December, the company were slammed for telling half a million of us to unplug our washing machines over Christmas due to a fire risk. Whirlpool recalled 519,000 Indesit and Hotpoint washers after 79 caught fire due to a flawed lock system.
