A day when we take time to honour Kenyans who contributed towards the struggle for our great nation’s independence. It is a day when we celebrate those who made sacrifices for the freedom we enjoy today. As we mark this day, I would ask – who is your Shujaa? When our forebears fought for independence, they were united—patriotic Kenyans all focused on one goal. Each one of us can be a shujaa by playing a role to deal with the challenges facing modern-day Kenya.
