The reported killing comes as multiple airstrikes hit areas around Tehran, including residential zones, amid a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Monday that its intelligence chief, Majid Khademi, was killed in US-Israeli strikes. Majid Khademi was a Brigadier General of the IRGC and served as the head of the Intelligence Protection Organization and Intelligence Organization of the IRGC since 2022 and 2025, respectively. According to Iranian state-linked reports, Khademi was killed in what the IRGC described as a strike by the “American-Zionist enemy". On March 17, an Israeli strike reportedly in the Tehran region killed the National Security Council chief and his family members.
