It’s encouraging to see, in light of recent events, that many people are making the choice to believe Michael Jackson’s alleged victims, writes Emma Teitel. Will they stop moonwalking into weddings and bar mitzvahs on account of the heinous things Jackson is alleged to have done offstage? Few of us — save the alleged victims and Jackson himself — can know for sure what happened at Neverland Ranch. This could be because the Me Too movement has rendered us more sympathetic to the stories of alleged abuse victims. This is why “cancelling” Michael Jackson, as they say, may turn out to be easier for some than shunning other celebrities accused of sex crimes involving teens or adults.
