South African markets closed in the red on Thursday, as investors assessed hotter than expected US inflation data. Platinum mining companies, Anglo American Platinum, Impala Platinum Holdings and Northam Platinum shed 4.8%, 2.0% and 1.7%, respectively. Gold miners, Sibanye Stillwater, Gold Fields and AngloGold Ashanti declined 3.5%, 2.9% and 1.5%, respectively.
