I can’t watch Queer Eye without crying. Queer Eye combines two things I don’t find in ordinary circumstances especially poignant: self-help platitudes and reality television. Almost inexplicably, all that self-improvement blather — about finding yourself and conquering your fears — seems on Queer Eye a touching, precious wisdom. What the new Queer Eye offers its subjects is more holistic. Queer Eye is a show of boundless and infectious positivity.
