UNEQUAL EDUCATIONEducation experts believe that the categorisation of secondary schools into national schools, extra-county, county and subcounty schools creates inequality in facilities. Despite being the best-equipped category of secondary schools, national schools host less than 5 per cent of all secondary school students. On the other hand, subcounty schools host 60 per cent of secondary school students. In essence, most secondary school students are in schools destined to fail them. In the past several years, subcounty secondary schools have seen government funding rise from Sh12,870 to Sh22,244 per student.
