People across Great Britain have been urged to take meter readings on Saturday to avoid being overcharged (file image)The Ofgem-set price cap will fall from £3,280 to £2,074. The Government Energy Price Guarantee was set at £2,500, meaning the typical household was sheltered from that high April cap. It is the first time in more than three years, since February 2020, that energy bills for people on their supplier's standard tariff have fallen. Households should submit meter readings as soon as they can. Keep your meter readings up to date and submit a reading on 1 July 2.
