The Wideman Davis Dance Troupe performs at Selma University — at 7:30 Thursday night first. “There are connections that you feel between the performers and the audience.”Both performances are site-specific — outdoor performances at architectural sites — that center on Black life during the Civil Rights Movement. “They’ve really immersed themselves in the Selma community in order to tell the Selma story. Sponsors for the performances include — the Alabama Dance Council — the Alabama State Council on the Arts — and the National Endowment for the Arts.
