Fifty-seven percent of retirees rely on Social Security as their primary source of income, according to a 2018 Gallup poll. Despite the projected shortfalls, there hasn’t been much movement by Congress or the Trump administration to fix Social Security. “The longer we wait to fix Social Security — can you imagine the dysfunctional doofuses in Our Nation’s Capital allowing the trust fund to go broke and have Social Security benefits sliced by more than 20 percent?
