Speaking after hosting a section of religious leaders at his Karen residence on Thursday, June 10, Ruto said every pursued interest should be in line with the Constitution of Kenya. In what seemed like a thin-veiled attack on the president and his handshake partner, Ruto noted the main intention of those behind the referendum push was selfish interests and not about Kenyans in the grassroots. The second in command urged leaders to focus on issues that affect Kenyans directly instead of concentrating on divisive matters. As TUKO.co.ke reported, Ruto took to his social media platforms to thank God for the ruling that arguably brought reggae to a sudden halt.
