Shashalee Forbes (left) and Briana WilliamsKINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s representatives Briana Williams and Shashalee Forbes both failed to get past the semi-finals of the women’s 60m on Saturday’s second day of the World Athletics Indoor Championships at the Glasgow Arena in Scotland. Forbes ran 7.15 seconds for fifth in her semi-final race, 11th best overall, while Williams was fourth in her race, in 7.19 seconds, 14th overall. St Lucia’s Julien Alfred is into the final set for 4:45 pm Jamaica time after winning her race in 7.03 seconds, second best in the semis behind Poland’s Ewa Swoboda who ran a world-leading 6.98 seconds. -Paul A Reid
