Photograph: Sarah Lee/The Guardian“The Sky Stretched Thin” is typical of the kind of poem that I’ve been writing. I miss my friends, going out for a meal, a drink, getting on trains, seeing the world go past through the window. This poem came out of the text messages we were sending back and forth. That’s life – life is death. And this poem came from that.
