Pavinee Watson won the long jump title at the final night of the Manawatū-Whanganui track and field championships. ATHLETICS: Titles were decided at the final night of the Manawatū-Whanganui track and field championships at the Massey Community Athletics Track. Winners were found in the long jump, javelin 300 metre hurdles and 3000 metre at the event last Tuesday. The men’s long jump was a close competition, with Forbes Kennedy winning with his 6.77m effort, 2cm better than Angus Lyver’s 6.75m. Pavinee Watson was out to 5.10m in the long jump, but just fouled out some better efforts.
