BARABOO, Wis. — Wisconsin school district officials have unveiled a plan that they hope will instil more empathy and understanding in students after a photo recently surfaced showing several dozen high schoolers giving what appears to be a Nazi salute. The plan doesn’t call for disciplining any of the students who appeared to salute in the photo, which was taken by a parent and didn’t take place on school grounds. The district also plans a day of peace assemblies on Dec. 18 for high school students and to develop faculty skills in teaching social justice, the Wisconsin State Journal reported . About two-thirds of the boys had their right arms raised in what appears to be a Nazi salute. ——Information from: Wisconsin State Journal, http://www.madison.com/wsj
