But because Biden’s winning margin is larger than 0.25%, state law says that the Trump campaign must prepay the estimated cost of the recount. Wolfe added that the Wisconsin Elections Commission still has not received an official request from the Trump campaign for a recount, but they want to be prepared. The Trump campaign previously announced that it wants a recount in Wisconsin and, has pushed false conspiracy theories about voting irregularities. “We still have not received any indication that there will or will not be a recount,” Wolfe said.
