Bryan Pietsch of the Washington Post has just written an article about an Israeli teen, Tal Mitnick, a conscientious objector who has refused to enlist in the IDF and will be imprisoned for 30 days or longer. The teen “said in a video posted by Mesarvot, a network for conscientious objectors in Israel, that “slaughter cannot solve slaughter. The criminal attack on Gaza won’t solve the atrocious slaughter that Hamas executed,” he said. “Violence won’t solve violence, and that is why I refuse.”www.washingtonpost.com/...He believes that BN’s current operation is a war of aggression against civilians and will not result in peace and security for either party to the I/P conflict. Tal Mitnick is also a poet whose work addresses the necessity of defying unjust laws in the service of peace.
