Czech Republic goalkeeper Petr Cech has urged his teammates to raise their game in Tuesday’s match against Turkey after losing captain Tomas Rosicky to injury at the European Championship. “But the other players will have to step up, and the team will have to step up,” Cech said. “We managed to play well without Tomas Rosicky in many qualifying games, and I believe we’ll be able to do it again,” he said. Rosicky suffered a partial tear of a thigh muscle in Friday’s 2-2 draw with Croatia, ruling the Czechs’ inspirational playmaker out of the tournament. A rare blunder by Cech, when he fumbled a simple cross three minutes before time, allowed Turkey to level for 2-2 before going on to win the game.
