Wolves have sealed the signings of England midfielder Angel Gomes from Marseille and striker Adam Armstrong from Southampton. Gomes joins on loan until the end of the season, with Wolves having an option to buy for about £6m. Striker Armstrong moves for an initial £7m on a three-and-a-half-year contract after the £48m sale of striker Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace also went through on deadline day. Wolves are bottom of the Premier League, 18 points from safety, and planning for an expected relegation to the Championship. Gomes started his career at Manchester United and made 10 appearances before joining Lille in 2020, playing 126 times and scoring 10 goals.
