A woman was on Saturday arrested after confessing to killing her child by strangling and dumping the body in a dumpsite. Mercy Chepngeno, 22, from Kuresoi, Nakuru county told detectives that she was the one who dumped her child at the Meteorological Department staff quarters. The DCI had sought information regarding the incident which was reported on October 31 after the baby was found dumped in a paper bag. "She confessed to strangling the child and dumping the body at the dumpsite where she worked as a house help for a few days," DCI tweeted on Sunday. The investigative agency said Chepngeno will be charged with the offence of infanticide contrary to Section 210 of the Penal Code.
