A 29-year-old woman has been charged over a failed jihadist attack near Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral as French politicians continue to argue about how to deal with the country’s severe terror threat. The woman, named as Ornella G, was linked to a women’s terror “commando” that the Paris prosecutor said was guided by Islamic State from Syria. The prime minister, Manuel Valls, said on Sunday that the current terror threat in France was at “maximum” and that at least two terror attacks were thwarted last week.
