A 58-year-old Timaru woman was arrested on Friday in relation to the theft of ornaments from the Riverstone complex north of Oamaru. Sergeant Kevin McErlain, of Timaru, said the woman was charged with burglary related to the theft of display items from outside the Riverstone Kitchen gift shop on Glenavy-Hilderthorpe Rd/State Highway 1, about 2am on January 15. The woman had also been charged with thefts from Countdown and New World supermarkets in Timaru, McErlain said. Police are still seeking to locate the woman’s alleged co-offender and said they know who she is.
