A hotel staffer, Thanawat Tonpho, 35, told police that the woman arrived with a man on a motorcycle at 11.25pm. Thanawat said the man paid for the room and led the woman inside although she appeared to hesitate. Thanawat said he thought the man had possibly gone out to buy something. When he did not return for a long time, Thanawat knocked the room door but no one answered. Jaruwan’s mother, Jirapha Promma,43, said her daughter left home to meet someone at a superstore at 7pm and did not return.
