(LINA) -The president of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, has said that meeting the goal to end extreme poverty by 2030 will be a bigger challenge if the world does not alter the way it invests in its children, particularly those coming from less advantaged backgrounds. Meanwhile, the Officer-in-Charge of World Bank Liberia Office, Sekou Kamara, has said the “End Poverty Day” is a very important day for the world because it is a day that the World Bank reaffirms its commitment to the World to endeavor to end poverty. He said the day is also important because it is when the World Bank listens to stories of people it has worked with to see how their work is positively impacting them. “End Poverty Day” is celebrated on October 10 every year across Africa.
