Worshipers return to Wong Tai Sin Temple as it reopens after two months

Hongkongers returned to the Wong Tai Sin Temple on Thursday, after it was closed for more than two months since the onset of the city’s fifth Covid wave. Hong Kong’s largest Taoist temple, Wong Tai Sin Temple has been closed since early February as the city battles its worst wave of infections. Visitors must also register their visit with the LeaveHomeSafe app and have their vaccination records checked by temple staff. Some unvaccinated worshippers this morning were barred from entering and could only pray at the entrance of the temple. Meanwhile, visitors must also observe a 4-person gathering cap, with the temple currently running at half capacity.
