KUALA LUMPUR: YTL AI Labs Sdn Bhd has taken a major step forward in Malaysia's ambition to build its own sovereign artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem by unveiling a new AI model known as ILMU-Nemo-30B. The improvement highlights the model's stronger ability to process complex queries and perform tasks that require a deep understanding of Malaysia's linguistic and cultural environment. The development of ILMU-Nemo-30B was trained collaboratively by research engineers from YTL AI Labs and Nvidia using local datasets hosted on the company's secure cloud. This initiative re-emphasises Malaysia's position to develop AI that is not only world-renowned, but also intrinsically aligned with the nation's cultural, linguistic and ethical values. With the launch of ILMU-Nemo-30B, YTL AI Labs hopes to accelerate the development of AI solutions that are both globally competitive and deeply rooted in Malaysia's linguistic and cultural landscape.
