The Yamuna River in Agra reached alarming levels on Sunday, resulting in a historic occurrence whereby the Taj Mahal and its Mughal Garden were submerged for the first time in 45 years. The surging Yamuna River has flooded Sikandra's sacred Kailash Mahadev Temple, invading its sanctum sanctorum. The Yamuna's floodwaters have also impacted the Kailash temple complex and nearby villages. Furthermore, the road connecting the village to Baldev near the Kailash temple has been submerged, cutting off six neighbouring villages.
