PUTRAJAYA: A senior director from the Malaysian Islamic Economic Foundation (Yapeim) has been remanded for five days for criminal breach of trust. Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman allowed the application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for the director to be remanded for investigations. The 47-year-old was brought to the magistrate's court here at 9.30am by MACC officials. MACC sources said the senior director was arrested at 5pm Tuesday after he was brought to the commission's headquarters for questioning. The government-linked foundation was first investigated by the MACC in 2015 over alleged misappropriation of funds, abuse of power and criminal breach of trust.
