RIYADH: Yemen’s president has pledged his “permanent support” for the UN’s efforts to establish peace in his war-torn country. Hadi said he supported the work of Griffiths in implementing the three main components of the a deal agreed last year. The Stockholm Agreement signed in December was endorsed by the UN Security Council, and signed by Hadi’s government and the Iran-backed Houthis. Hadi also said his government is “looking forward to concrete work on the ground.”“Our Yemeni people aspire to achieve the just peace that the Yemeni people deserve, and the regional and international references have confirmed it,” Hadi said. He also said the international community is closely monitoring the situation in Yemen in general, and appreciates the president’s efforts in supporting peace, affirming that he will exert his own efforts in order to achieve the peace that the Yemeni people deserve.
