Fiavi Kwetey mentioned that the majority caucus supports the party’s official decision to go ahead with the by-election and maintain Mohammed Baba Jamal as its candidate. The by-election was held as a result of the death of the sitting MP, Nasser Toure, in January. The candidate of the NDC is determined to replace the deceased MP, but is faced with competition from the candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Baba Ali Yussif.
