OROQUIETA CITY, Philippines – A former mayor of Midsalip town in Zamboanga del Sur was arrested for drugs in Oroquieta City Friday afternoon. Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police officers arrested former mayor Liwaya Angcap and her common-law partner Leander Lumantas after a search was conducted inside their store and house in Barangay Talairon, Oroquieta City. According to the PDEA, Liwaya was a member of the Kubal Drug Group under Ardot Parojinog operating in Misamis Occidental. Villanueva said Liwaya is a “downline” of Parojinog who used to visit her house in Midsalip town. The two arrested suspects are now detained at the Oroquieta police station headquarters, PDEA said.
