Back in 2005, Sunrise thought it worth rebooting Zeta Gundam with a condensed movie trilogy. Boasting a new ending, it tried to bring more people into the setting of Zeta Gundam but did so with mixed results. As such, the narrative complexity and layering that Zeta Gundam afforded made it one of the best entries in the Universal Century branch of the Gundam saga. By contrast, this movie trilogy diminishes that craftsmanship and towards the end, it can come across as a rather confused mess. The Zeta Gundam movie trilogy is available on both DVD and Blu-ray via Right Stuf Anime.
