The Government said it was aware of a data breach following a report in the Times that detailed prison layouts had been shared on the dark web in the past two weeks. A former prison governor told the newspaper that organised crime groups could use the information to smuggle drugs or weapons into the estate, or plan escapes. The blueprints are said to include the locations of cameras and sensors, with security officials now working to identify the source of the leak and who might benefit from the details. A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: “We are not going to comment on the specific detail of security matters of this kind, but we are aware of a breach of data to the prison estate and, like with all potential breaches, have taken immediate action to ensure prisons remain secure.”

The Museum of West African Art (Mowaa), a constellation of buildings and outdoor performance spaces spread out across a 6-hectare (15-acre) campus, will hold its inaugural exhibition in May 2025. A series of workshops and live archaeological excavations were held to introduce visitors to Mowaa, and “start an open dialogue on what it means to be an African museum in the 21st century”. Other key parts of Mowaa, including a rainforest gallery and an art guesthouse, will be commissioned within the next year or two, pending further funding. The rainforest gallery, spanning 1,400 sq m, will be an exhibition building for larger displays of contemporary art in a replanted rainforest. “The Mowaa Institute is a first-of-its-kind space dedicated to world-class, cutting-edge science research to develop new narratives and to conserve African art and collections,” Chirikure says.

Well, John Swinney has managed it in just a few short months as leader of the SNP. In 16 by-elections in succession, the Nats have failed to defeat their rivals from Labour, the Tories or the Lib Dems. After years in the wilderness, Labour appears to be back in the ascendancy in Glasgow and the industrial central belt. After first coming to power under the late Alex Salmond in 2007 (winning by just one seat from Labour), the Nats won handsomely in 2011. 8.12am GMTNegotiators have told our reporters on-the-ground that rich countries have agreed to up their offer on the crucial issue of climate finance. Claudio Angelo, from Observatório do Clima in Brazil, said rich countries had “clearly arrived to ditch their obligations”. He said $300bn in grant funding was “way, way below” what developing countries needed. But poor nations wanted much more of that headline finance to come directly from rich countries, preferably in the form of grants rather than loans. They said the offer of $250bn coming from rich countries, with few safeguards over how much would come without strings attached, was much too little.

Last night around 9.45pm on Pleasance Way, at least 10 cars were vandalised with hundreds if not thousands of pounds of damage. “New Milton feels like the Wild West these days”The police were informed, I believe, but never attended. They post their achievements on their Facebook site, however, they need to do more at the times we need them like at night.
