‘Dexter’ won’t die. How Showtime used Netflix to hype its expanding serial killer universe
Showtime can’t let “Dexter” die — the franchise and, it turns out, the eponymous antihero himself. Fans were unhappy with the ending of the original series in 2013, which remains the most watched program in the history of the Paramount-owned premium cable network. They were perhaps even angrier about how the recent revival, “Dexter: New Blood,” concluded in 2022, with Dexter Morgan’s son, Harrison, murdering him. The first show in this effort is “Dexter: Original Sin,” which launches on Paramount+ with Showtime in December. The current batch of eight episodes is the second most-watched season of a TV series in Prime Video’s history.

Health Care Providers Urge Biden To Support Abortion Rights Policy
LOADING ERROR LOADINGMore than 400 health care providers called on the Biden administration to “actively and unequivocally” support an abortion rights policy that goes further than Roe v. Wade and restores access to abortion later in pregnancy. Advocacy group Physicians for Reproductive Health, along with 430 physicians providing sexual and reproductive health care, on Tuesday sent a letter to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, urging them to do better on abortion care and gender-affirming care. But many abortion rights advocates say that Roe was inherently flawed, allowing targeted restrictions on abortion providers that chipped away at access even where it was legal and left out people who needed abortion care past fetal viability. These laws forced many abortion clinics to shut down, creating a dynamic where abortion care was legal on a federal level but not actually accessible in many parts of the country.
