CAIRO- 30 January 2022: The recovery rate from the coronavirus (COVID-19) at Egyptian isolation hospitals reached 84 percent, after receiving the necessary medical care according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), said the Ministry of Health in a statement on Sunday. The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the acting Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar on Saturday ordered that all tourism sector workers receive booster doses of the coronavirus vaccine. The President of the Egyptian Export Council of Medical Industries (ECMI), Majed George, held talks with Senegalese President Macky Sall during his visit to Cairo on Saturday to discuss joint cooperation and exporting medicines, supplies and cosmetics to Senegal – alongside the potential inauguration of an Egyptian pharmaceutical factory in Senegal. George said that this comes to obtain a certificate from the Economic Community of West African States, which allows Egyptian medicines to enter 15 African countries without customs. And the meeting discussed the opening of the Senegalese market to Egyptian exports in the pharmaceutical sector, he said. He added that ECMI plans to expand export markets in the African continent, to implement the state’s plan to advance exports and achieve the US$100 billion target that the Egyptian state seeks. George added that through this meeting the ECMI seeks to expand Egypt’s presence within pharmaceutical products, medical supplies and cosmetics in west African countries and to find ways to benefit from the promising political relations launched by the Egyptian state to deepen economic and trade cooperation within Africa.

Cairo – 28 January 2022: The Foreign Ministry deeply condemned Friday's missile shelling of Baghdad International Airport, which resulted in material damage. In a statement, the ministry said such attacks constitute a direct threat to Iraq's stability and undermine the freedom of air navigation. CAIRO (AP) — A leading environmental group warned Thursday of a potential major oil leak or explosion on an aging oil tanker moored off of Yemen’s Red Sea coast. Greenpeace released a report listing the environmental, humanitarian and economic impacts of a potential oil spill from the FSO Safer on conflict-riddled Yemen and the Red Sea region in general. Last month, a Yemeni official with the U.N.-recognized government said there was an oil leak from the tanker. Undersecretary of Hodeida province Waleed al-Qudaimi blamed the situation on the U.N.
