The national Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) increased by 6.6pc in the 12 months to November 2025. Property prices in Dublin rose by 5pc and prices outside Dublin were up by 7.9pc compared with November 2024. The data shows prices still rising but the double digit increases of 2024 are over, at least for now. Revenue data shows there were 1,589 first-time buyer purchases in November 2025. Dublin residential property prices are 9.3pc higher than their Celtic Tiger peak, while residential property prices in the Rest of Ireland are 26.2pc higher than their pre-bust peak.

Gardaí are appealing for information where a man in Wexford was allegedly hit by a car and brought to hospital. On Friday, January 2, the emergency services responded to an incident where a man is believed to have been struck by a car whilst out walking in the Bawnmore area of New Ross, Wexford. The man was found laying on the ground by members of the public and he was brought from the scene of the narrow road by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford where he was treated for injuries sustained to his neck, shoulders and legs. It’s understood that the man gave the description of a silver car coming towards him that had a loud exhaust. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses that may have dashcam footage or information in relation to this incident.

Property price inflation slowed to 6.6 per cent in the year to November, down from the 7.2 per cent recorded in October, new data from the Central Statistics Office shows. Property prices in Dublin rose by 5 per cent, while prices outside the capital were up by 7.9 per cent compared with November 2024. “While house prices still remain unaffordable for many, if the rate of house price growth continues to slow down, home ownership could become a reality for more people this year,” he said. In Dublin, house prices rose by 4.8 per cent while apartment saw stronger price growth – at 5.6 per cent. Outside the capital, house prices were up by 7.7 per cent and apartment prices rose by 10.5 per cent.
