A man has died following a single-car crash in Cork on Monday. The fatal road incident happened on the R639 in Ballinrush, Kilworth, just after 11.15am. The driver, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner has since been notified, and an autopsy will take place in Cork University Hospital. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

A huge US Air Force bomber has declared an in-flight emergency while travelling over England's south coast today. The B52 bomber was seen circling at approximately 10,000 feet just east of Southampton. The emergency is yet to be confirmed by the US Air Force or the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The B-52 is part of a Bomber Task Force (BTF) currently based at RAF Fairford, which the US Air Force uses as its main forward base in Europe. It also has one of the longest runways in the UK - strong enough to support large aircraft like the B-52.
