Vaccination against bluetongue virus will be included as an option for farmers participating in beef and sheep welfare schemes. Vaccination can greatly reduce the impact and severity of bluetongue on livestock and mitigate both animal health and welfare issues and the production losses associated with infection. In Budget 2026, I secured €50m for the continuation of the highly successful beef and sheep welfare schemes operated by my department in 2025. In 2026, the sheep welfare scheme will include an option to vaccinate, and participants may choose to vaccinate against either bluetongue or clostridial diseases. In 2026, the beef welfare scheme will include an option to vaccinate, and participants may choose to vaccinate against either bluetongue, clostridial diseases, or calf pneumonia.

The battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League looks set to go down to the wire, with Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and West Ham fearing for their top-flight futures. Tottenham remain only a point above West Ham, who currently lie the wrong side of the dotted line despite improving in recent months. Leeds are four points above the drop, but are by no means out of the woods. Those four points have all come from draws, with Leeds scoring just three goals across those matches, but only conceding five. Spurs remain without a league win in 2026, picking up just five points so far this year.

As Ferreira ran down the back straight, Czechia pole vaulter David Holy was beginning his take-off for his event. Daily Mail Sport have contacted World Athletics for comment about the incident. The Supreme Court will consider a common clause in commercial loan agreements that allowed Bank of Ireland to raise interest rates in line with its increased lending costs in the wake of the financial crash. Photograph: Brian Lawless/PAThe Supreme Court will consider a common clause in commercial loan agreements that allowed Bank of Ireland to raise interest rates in line with its increased lending costs in the wake of the financial crash. They claim they would have paid €738,000 less if the interest rate calculation had not been altered in alleged breach of contract. They claim it could not have been contemplated by rational business people that such a “dramatic alteration” to interest rates could occur. The bank says the case is not generally important and the contract allows for this large variation in interest rate calculation.

Harvard task forces released reports last year saying Jewish and Muslim students at the university had faced bigotry and abuse. A deal to resolve the Trump administration's probes against Harvard remains elusive. Last week, the administration sued Harvard to recover billions of dollars over allegedly failing to protect Jewish students. The Trump administration also separately sued Harvard in February, accusing it of failing to comply with a federal investigation, while also seeking documents to determine whether the university considered race in its admissions process. Trump has in particular cast pro-Palestinian protests as antisemitic and alleged that universities, including Harvard, allowed antisemitism on campus.
