Thank you, Mami, for giving birth to me in Puerto Rico. Prior to Sunday’s win, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” — the title translates in English to “I Should Have Taken More Photos” — was named album of the year at November’s Latin Grammy Awards.

“No suspicious packages or devices were located,” the Columbia Heights police department said in a statement. The threats came a day after Ramos and his father returned home after being inexplicably held in a Texas Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. Ramos may be home, but three other kids from his school are still locked up in the same Texas ICE facility he just left. Two other students from his school district are being held in the Texas detention center, too, as ICE continues terrorizing brown and Black families in this Minneapolis suburb. "We want all children to be released from detention centers and hope for the reunification of families who have been unjustly separated.”

Disney’s income before income taxes totaled nearly $3.7 billion, a 1% jump from the same time period last year. The company beat Wall Street estimates for revenue and earnings per share, largely propelled by its theme parks and streaming businesses. Operating income for the company’s international theme parks was up 2% compared with the prior year’s quarter, driven by higher attendance and guest spending. Streaming operating income also grew about $190 million to $450 million, leading to an operating margin of 8.4% for the quarter. The dip in operating income from the entertainment sector took a toll on the company’s total segment operating income, which was down 9% to $4.6 billion.

See you and Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl next week (from very, very far away from the field). Still has to be an outside pick though this year, versus the critical, commercial and legacy-sealing juggernauts from Kendrick and Bad Bunny. After noting that “we are humans and we are Americans,” Bad Bunny goes on: “The hate get more powerful with more hate. Will “Golden” become the first K-pop tune to win song of the year? Will Bad Bunny take it all en route to next weekend’s Super Bowl halftime performance?

By then Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner had become one of the most decorated pairs in U.S. figure skating history, their individual names eventually melding into one. "My last name is 'and Randy,'" Babilonia said. After retiring from skating, Babilonia, now 66, dabbled in coaching and sportswear design, became a motivational speaker, an activist and, most importantly, a grandmother. Fairbanks, Babilonia learned later, simply needed a couple to skate in a club show at the Culver City Ice Arena. I recorded this today, in Portland, Oregon, at a huge march to the ICE facility in SW. So of course ICE deployed tear gas. The tear gas and rubber bullet barrage was reportedly somewhat less intense than the day before, though that's probably because the agents didn't see any children in the crowd. 😒 Meanwhile, the ACLU of Oregon is representing protesters who are now suing the federal government for their dangerous, unnecessary use of tear gas against peaceful protesters. After thanking everyone who worked on the album, Ocasio blasted the inhuman cruelty of ICE, saying, "We’re not savage.

Jerusalem —Gaza’s only border crossing with Egypt reopened partially on Monday morning after Israel closed it nearly two years ago, according to an Israeli security official, allowing a small number of Palestinians to enter and leave the war-torn enclave. CNN previously reported that a total of 150 Palestinians would be allowed to leave Gaza through the crossing each day, but only 50 would be allowed to enter. Nearly 1,300 people have died after being forced to wait to leave Gaza for treatment, the ministry said. Before Israel shut the crossing, some Palestinians had reported paying thousands of dollars when it was open, which few can afford. But Israel refused to open the crossing until the return of all living and deceased hostages.

Share LinkedIn Pin EmailChristina House / Los Angeles Times / TNSIn speech after speech, this year’s Grammy-winning artists returned to one message — ICE is a menace that must be stopped. After dramatic, violent escalations in federal raids on immigrant communities and their supporters in Minneapolis and across the country, Americans have been shocked into despair and action. Many artists up for top Grammys have been vocal about their opposition to these raids, but at Sunday’s Grammys, the topic was front and center for many winners in their speeches. I hope everyone is inspired to come together as a community of artists ad speak out against what’s going on.”” F— Ice,” Kehlani added, walking off the stage. If you follow politics closely, you know some of the most powerful ideas in history weren’t just argued — they were designed, printed, and plastered on walls. That’s why I recommend Propaganda Posters, a site that curates and sells some of the most iconic political posters from history. The prints are high quality, richly detailed, and full of bold, vivid color — the kind that immediately draws your eye and holds it. They feel substantial, display beautifully, and turn political history into real, conversation-starting art. If you’re a Political Wire reader who appreciates the power of political messaging, this is a collection worth seeing.
