The eventual indictment — filed against Trump five months after the memo was written — did not mention Trump’s business interests as a possible motive. The memo recounts an alleged incident in which Trump, on a June 2022 flight to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, allegedly shared a classified map with passengers. Trump has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and maintained that he was entitled to keep classified records when he left the White House in 2021. White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson on Wednesday panned the conclusions detailed in the newly released memo from Smith’s team. Republicans have sought to paint that move as evidence Smith was pursuing a partisan vendetta.

It was the high number of young participants in the annual interfaith conference organized in Kosovo that struck me hard. Interfaith dialogue is often contrasted with the work in the fight against extremism which is often much more practical. But interfaith dialogue provides a good example. The fight against extremism is not in conflict with interfaith dialogue. But absorption of the ideas of liberal democracies as well as new responsibilities by religious leaders takes time.

Detective Victor Lemus, one of the three deputies killed by a grenade explosion at a training facility last year, had no formal training as a bomb disposal technician, according to his widow. “Victor Lemus further would have understood that because he had not been trained, he would not be exposed to a live explosive device,” the claim argues. Sheriff‘s Department officials did not respond to questions regarding whether Lemus had formal training for the bomb squad. After arriving on the scene, Osborn used an older X-ray machine to examine the explosive device. The deputies “then used the live explosive device as a training demonstration — the most tragic violation,” the claim reads.

Iran publicly insisted there were no direct or indirect conversations, and it was uninterested in having them. “We are exploring how, as countries with a certain degree of influence in the region, we can combine our strengths to solve problems,” Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Saturday. Participants, the ministry said, included Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Fidan, Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Araghchi and Witkoff. Calls were also made to Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who serves as Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister. The next day, Pakistan’s civilian government said it had nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
