U.S. could hold a 'red card' over Canada's Gripen fighter jet option
Critics who favour the Lockheed-Martin stealth fighter have long argued that the Swedish-built Gripen would not be interoperable with American aircraft and the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD). Commanders of both the Swedish and Danish air forces, speaking at the airfield in Keflavik on Tuesday, said the aircraft have been performing well together. Some schools in Nova Scotia closed Wednesday following messy storm
Some schools closed or delayed opening on Wednesday as a messy winter storm made its way across Nova Scotia. Schools in the Halifax and Annapolis Valley regions delayed opening by two hours. On the South Shore, schools in Lunenburg County delayed opening two hours and had backup road closure plans in place. As well, schools of Conseil scolaire acadien provincial were closed or delayed opening. Many provincial roads were covered or partially covered with snow Tuesday morning, according to the Nova Scotia 511 map.

McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski is being widely mocked online for a video he shared promoting the fast food chain’s newest burger, the Big Arch. Commenters have mocked him for taking a bite so tiny the bun looked pretty much untouched. In it, the commenter pretends she is “Chris K” and says of a McDonald’s cheeseburger: “Whoa, that is a big burger. Tom Curtis, the president of Burger King U.S. & Canada, can be seen taking a big bite of a Whopper. Burger King also announced recently that its Whopper is getting a re-do for the first time in nearly 10 years.
