Trade min. holds talks with senior Saudi officials

Starting January, paying train tickets in USD, Euro to be mandatory for foreigners in Egypt
CAIRO – 25 December 2022: Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir stated in a phone-in Saturday that starting January, it would be mandatory for foreigners to pay train tickets in either US dollar or euro. The minister noted that 1,023 passengers had already paid their tickets in such foreign currencies in the past few days, and that most of those tickets were for sleeping trains. Wazir pointed out that the decision would help the ministry pay the installments of the deals signed with international companies to supply new railcars and train engines, renovate signaling systems, and carry out maintenance.

December 25 marks the 104th birth anniversary of late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, as he was born on December 25, 1918. It is what appeared clearly in his elimination of his political opponents in what was known as the Correction Revolution. MP calls on government to stop trading with US dollars inside Egypt
Egyptian MP Mohamed Abdullah Zain-Eddin, a member of the House of Representatives, called on his government to take all measures to immediately stop dealing with the US dollar inside Egypt and to only use the Egyptian pound, in light of the on-going global financial crisis. He also called on the government to take all measures to ensure stopping the import of all non-essential goods and products to relieve pressure on the import bill during this difficult economic stage. Health Ministry resumes Knock on Doors campaign for family health in Upper Egypt - Daily News Egypt

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced in a press statement recently that in 2022, 431 hotel and tourism facilities and new marine activity centres were opened and operated across Egypt, which created 4,532 new job opportunities. Egypt's railway services to be fully renewed by 2024: Transport minister
CAIRO - 24 December 2022: Transport Minister Kamel Wazir stressed the Egyptian National Railways will finalize renewing all railway services by 2024, congratulating the Egyptian leadership and people on operating the first Talgo deluxe passenger train. Egypt received two trains out of total seven trains. One of the trains was piloted and went into service on Saturday between Cairo and Alexandria. The minister stressed that this falls within the framework of directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, noting that these trains operate under up-to-date technology. 1st luxury Talgo trains to operate from Cairo to Alexandria Saturday

Egypt invested LE 12 bln in electricity sector during 2022

A twelve-year old boy died by hanging after reportedly imitating a controversial challenge spread across TikTok, referred to as the ‘Charlie Challenge. During the investigations, the child’s mother said that she had found a video clip about how to use the “Devils Game” or the “Charlie Challenge” on the TikTok application. The mother concluded that her son was trying to imitate the game and hanged himself with a rope. Egypt to witness inauguration of Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam in Tanzania - Daily News Egypt

‘Contradicting Sharia’: Al-Azhar Reacts to Taliban University Ban for Afghan Women
