Egyptian president delivers speech at 'Night of Power' ceremony
CAIRO – 18 April 2023: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi delivered Tuesday a speech at the ceremony held to celebrate the ‘Night of Power’ thanking Al Azhar for promoting moderate Islam and welcoming foreign students specialized in Islamic studies. The president had met Monday evening with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) to discuss the crisis in Sudan, where he stressed that negotiations are a must to resolve the issue. Egypt’s Armed Forces confirmed Saturday that its was closely following the situation in Sudan. Clashes erupted in several locations in the center of the Sudanese capital between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary fighters. The Sudanese army and the RSF are trading accusations regarding who started the clashes.

Egyptian lawyer sues Netflix over Queen Cleopatra

Death toll from butane gas cylinder explosion at Giza rises to 7
The number of deaths from a butane gas cylinder explosion at Kerdasa on Sunday has risen following the death of a child, Ahmed Ibrahim Nasser Ashry, from his injuries.
