SONABHY is the only institution mandated by law to import and distribute petroleum products in Burkina Faso. The review is to among other things strengthen the collaboration between Ghana and Burkina Faso in relation to the supply of petroleum products. Ordinary, all the imports of petroleum products should meet the specifications (50ppm) that Ghana adopted in 2017,” he noted. The SONABHY boss revealed they were already in discussions with Ghanaian companies to sign additional storage agreements in anticipation of an increase in export from Ghana.

He underscored the importance of National Parks and indicated that the Australian government is poised to help Ghana conserve the Mole National park and environment. The Australian government support to the Mole National Park is phenomenal. In April this year, the park received some high technology equipment including drones for surveillance which has helped conduct census of all animal species at Park.

According to him, it is paramount for vehicle owners and drivers to have their vehicles licensed in order to avoid any future misfortunes. Explaining the need for users to visit the DVLA, the district manager hinted that DVLA does not only provide licenses for vehicle users. On the test, he said, DVLA conduct checks to make sure users are mentally, psychologically, emotionally and physically well before they're allowed to use vehicles. He mentioned that motorbike and tricycle users are given license "A" whilst license "D" goes for bus users. He entreated motorcycle users, tricycle users and both big and small car users to always do the needful to avoid any harassment.

The two were on an unregistered motorbike from the Awoshie section of the road when they fell onto the pavement, instantly killing one. In an eyewitness account available to GhanaWeb, the injured person was rushed to the Ga North Municipal Hospital while the deceased’s corpse has been deposited at the morgue. “They fell at the same time onto the road, one died on the spot and the other got injured, so the ambulance team picked them up to the hospital,” he said. Earlier this week, it was reported that some crash railings on the interchange, costing thousands of dollars, had gone missing.

Meanwhile, DCE Nominee for Upper Manya Joseph Sam who secured 98% votes on Friday told GHone News, having served just six months as DCE for the area before ex-President Kufuor’s regime exited power, he will leverage on the abundant natural resources to develop the district.

“When we are talking about Human Rights, these are rights that people are entitled to as a result of their humanity. Rights issues can also be seen in the context of the fact that we cannot have an omnivorous form of rights that every form of rights should subscribe to,” he said. “It has serious consequences on people’s freedom. Clauses in the bill actually give the people involved in LGBTQ+ activities the right to medical attention, etc.,” he explained. Right to freedom of speech and expression, the right to assemble, freedom of association and the right to organise, the right to freedom from discrimination and the right to human dignity are what is denied the LQBTQI+ community, they have argued.

A memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed between the Negotiation Team of UTAG and representatives of government on Wednesday, October 6 accepted $1,600 as research allowance for lecturers payable by 2024. The move averted an intended strike action by UTAG on Friday, October 8. But a petition by UTAG-UG sent to the National President, Professor Solomon Nunoo, overwhelmingly rejects the stated amount. Jointly signed by President Dr. Samuel Nkumbaan and Secretary Prof Ransford Gyampo, the petition contends that lecturers should be entitled to and shall only accept the Cedi equivalent of $2,084.
