Government foot-dragging on a settlement for postal services is among factors which exposed the Royal Mail to overseas ownership. The 2022 National Security & Investment Act was meant to avert such travesties, which have had a lasting effect on our growth capacity, innovation and tax take. At present, it could have a big say on the sale of both cyber-security specialist Darktrace and Royal Mail owner IDS.

Lituanica UK issues product recall due to risk of meningitis
Lituanica UK Ltd has recalled its Daivida Rokiskio Mesine Pork Tongue and Ear Roll (400g) with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) urging anyone who has purchased the product to return it immediately. The recall comes after listeria monocytogenes was found in the Pork Tongue and Ear Roll product. For further information you can contact Lituanica UK customer services on 020 8591 5599. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all stores that are selling the product, according to the FSA. These notices will explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought one.

Hoop Dreams: Moate's Conor to play for Ireland in wheelchair basketball
Conor Dufficy: The Moate 15-year-old has been selected for the Irish Under-23 Wheelchair Basketball team. "They were looking for people with disabilities that play sport, and I fit the description, so I sent in an application," he explained. A resident of Cois Na hAbhainn, Moate, Conor has a younger sister, Holly, who also attends Moate CS. Conor said he really enjoyed the experience of meeting up with the Irish under-23 wheelchair basketball squad for training recently. When asked what sports person he admires the most, he mentions the wheelchair basketball player generally regarded as the best in the world: Canada's Patrick Anderson.

One of the key differences between an e-money institution and a banking licence is that the former enables firms to offer loans. ‘No fear’ for future of 2FM despite three high-profile exits in recent weeks, station boss says
Head of RTÉ 2FM Dan Healy has said there is “no fear” for the station despite Jennifer Zamparelli yesterday joining Doireann Garrihy and the 2 Johnnies in leaving the airwaves in recent weeks. “To go from people leaving the station to closing it down is nuts,” Mr Healy said told RTÉ’s Today with Claire Byrne. On the reaction of Director General Kevin Bakhurst to the departures and whether Mr Healy is being blamed for them, the 2FM head said “God no”. Speaking on RTÉ 2FM this morning, Zamparelli was asked if the exit spells the end between her and RTÉ. Zamparelli has presented her own show from 9am-12pm weekdays on RTÉ 2FM since May 2019, which she was “on leave” from in recent weeks.

Fix this narrative, Celtic
Celtic have not beaten either of the Rangerses in a Scottish Cup Final since before the Berlin Wall fell. We were poor that season yet managed to hold the line at Hampden in the sun. We have twice lost to Newco at Hampden in the Scottish Cup, both semis and both defeats, despite Celtic being strong favourites, just as we are tomorrow. Despite being champions, Celtic have an interesting edge to them going into the game. Fix this narrative, Celtic.

What The NYC Portal To Dublin Is Like IRL
By May 14, less than a week after it debuted, the portal was temporarily shut down due to "inappropriate behavior." The portal was back up and running by May 19 with several changes in place. Most notably, the livestream was originally on 24/7, but since its reopening, it's now on from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
