The petition was presented to the House by some climate change activists with a clarion call for immediate action on climate change, which is critical. According to the activists, their request would combat climate change and dedicate the country to a low-carbon future. Ms. Mongrue then used the situation of JFK and Redemption hospitals, as a classic example of threats posed by climate change to the country's infrastructure. Biggest democracy challengesIn convening such a summit President Biden is confronted with several challenges at home and abroad. Democratic backsliding has been observed globally in the areas of representative government, fundamental rights, checks and balances, and impartial administration. This is more pronounced in countries with pre-existing democratic challenges such as in some European, African, and Pacific countries. The prioritization of democratic challenges arising from covid-19 induced democratic backsliding by the summit is critical. Despite the doom and gloom opportunities are still there to arrest the democratic backsliding witnessed in the last decade.
